The Sum of Parts

“The richness and meaning of a place derives not from single items but from details which, taken together, contribute to a mosaic greater than the sum of its parts”

Peter Randall Page
(report on Castle Park for Bristol City Council, 1990)

There is a growing awareness in the UK that the identity of our high streets and public spaces is becoming increasingly standardised at the expense of local identity. Jonathan Clarkson is developing a growing reputation, skill and ability to cross the confines of traditional design disciplines, such as furniture design, urban design, landscape design and architecture, learning from each and cross pollinating ideas and techniques in order to add credible value to the individuality and quality of both public and private space.

Jonathan has over five years professional experience working for landscape architecture and international land planning and design companies on a range of high profile projects including; Edinburgh Transport Interchange, Inverness city centre, Quartermile urban regeneration in Edinburgh, Aegon House in Edinburgh Park and Peterhead town centre.
