Garden Structures
‘Places for Dreaming’ are contemporary garden seating enclosures with integrated metal structures. Designed to create exclusive contemplation space in the classic modern landscape ‘Places for Dreaming’ are tailored to suit each individual client's requirements and built to order using a team of high quality professional contractors under the guidance of a qualified design consultant.
They are designed to create distinctive places either for private contemplation or for small social group gatherings. Each seating enclosure is built to order and is exclusive by nature.
Seating Options
Whether it be the simple single bay seating enclosure or a fully circular garden structure, the concept aims to create a semi-private seating area which would form a focal point in landscape garden space.
The seating is available as follows:
Single bay
Provides a simple arc bench seat for two people, where space is at a premium.
Double bay
Provides a small semi–circular seating enclosure for four people where more space is available.
Triple bay
Provides a larger semi–circular seating enclosure creating a social space ideal for small gatherings.
Circular
This four bay seating structure creates a full circular enclosure within a larger garden space with access from two opposite sides.
Tri bay
This seating enclosure, like the four bay circular seating is fully circular, but with access from three different directions.
All these options have seating constructed from FSC certified hardwood where possible. The timber is selected for its inherent weather resistance, natural durability and positive effect on the wider environment.
Paving Options
Patio areas offer low maintenance, practical and hard wearing surfaces. High quality natural stone paving slabs help to define and create a distinct place within a garden.
Options are available for a number of individual colours, patterns and textures. These include Haworth Moor Blue Grey paving, Haworth Moor Golden paving and high quality man made setts.
Alternatively, structures can be installed into an existing garden area for example into an existing level area of lawn or an existing patio area (subject to site conditions).
Enclosure Options
Enclosing the structure helps to define a place or an area within a larger garden, and helps to create a sense of security and privacy. Enclosure can be achieved using walls or hedging:
Hedging
We would suggest Yew hedging which speaks a language of quality, and was used in many 19th century classical garden designs.
It is slow growing and therefore low maintenance, maintaining a tidy appearance for much of the year. It can be bought and planted at the desired height providing an instant effect. Please note that as with many garden plants, that all parts of the plant are poisonous if ingested.
Natural stone walls
A well crafted natural stone wall speaks for itself. Natural materials stand out in terms of quality and grow old gracefully. Please note that all natural materials vary in colour and change over time. The illustrations form only a guide.
Caithness dry stone wallCaithness stone comes in a range of varying colours from browns through to dark greys.
Sandstone dry stone wallThese turn a characteristically silvery grey over time.
Sandstone mortared stone wallMortared walls are generally quicker to build.
